Telling Our Stories

Episode V - Where the Mountains Meet the Sea

Once upon a time, people eschewed Maine for other, more popular and populated coastal destinations; but, as with many things in the last two years, things have changed. Where before The Pine Tree State seemed too far to travel, benefits like privacy and open space have risen in importance on many buyers’ wish lists. Our Midcoast team has had a front row seat to this shift in preferences.

In the latest episode of LandVest’s Our Stories video series, Joseph Sortwell and Terry Sortwell share what’s changed and what’s stayed the same in this region they call home.

From creatives in their 40s and 50s to young families returning to the place they grew up, there’s a wide range of people settling into towns like Camden, Rockport, Wiscasset, and Boothbay Harbor. The properties they find can often be complicated though; especially historic properties. It’s one of the many reasons it’s essential to work with a broker who’s familiar with the complexities some Maine homes come with.

While Joseph and Terry may be introducing the region to prospective new residents and engaging the latest technologies and marketing strategies to do it, they’re still utilizing LandVest’s team of experts to “provide top-quality service to the top of the market.”
