This year has shown us all how important it is to be able to get outside or have room to burn off some energy at home. These properties offer the amenities that’ll keep you on your skis, on horseback, and in shape or the space to create a recreational property all your own.

Being able to enjoy these New England settings year-round is easy when you have access to some of region’s best skiing. The former home of Paleface Mountain Ski Area in the Adirondacks could now be your personal retreat. Bassett Mountain offers alpine and cross-country ski trails as well as views of Whiteface Mountain. Ridgeview, a modern Vermont retreat, looks out over Sugarbush Resort and is just minutes from Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. The Treehouse in the Berkshires is close to the slopes at Bousquet Mountain and Jiminy Peak, among others. Past the rolling meadows of Cobble Hill Farm, you can see the slopes of Glebe Mountain. Plus, this trails on this 149-acre property connect with the 32km network of trails run by the Viking Nordic Center. In New Hampshire, Hope Farm is close to some of the state’s most popular skiing at Mt. Sunapee and Ragged Mountain.

Copper Beech Hill, a turn-of-the-century estate, is located next to the Myopia Hunt & Polo Club and overlooks the 15th green. Just down the street from Moon Tide Cottage are Goose River Golf Course and Megunticook Golf Club, as well as many more dotting the Maine coast. When you can’t get to your favorite course, you can still practice your short game with the indoor putting space at Overloch on Lords Hill. At 18 High Ridge Drive, you’ll find country club living at its finest. This home in the Bay Club at Mattapoisett neighbors a beautiful golf course that includes a professional staff offering clinics, lessons, and youth programs.

For the days when the weather isn’t cooperating, work out in your own home gym instead. At Westwoods, not only is there an exercise room, but there’s even a yoga studio. Make sure you have all the equipment and space you need, like 73 & 75 Harbor Street does. Enjoy the great outdoors and a beautiful view while still having a roof over your head – the gym at North Haven Road sits at the water’s edge. Pamper yourself and your four-legged friend with a property featuring equestrian amenities. Sometimes no perfect property exists…yet. With these properties, you have the option to create the perfect retreat. Kingdom Highlands is perched high in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom and has a conservation easement that encourages recreational uses. Portions of uneased land would be ideal sites for a rural cabin or formal country estate. In Central New York’s Mohawk Valley, Hoyer Hill is a blank canvas where you can create your own sanctuary on 300 acres.
