Pegan Hill: A Landmark Conservation Success

With LandVest’s help, a landmark MetroWest Boston property was permanently protected in 2015. The property comprises 40 acres of meadows and woodlands and offers panoramic hilltop views atop Pegan Hill in Dover and Natick, Massachusetts. The land abuts the 32 acre Pegan Hill Reservation owned by The Trustees of Reservations and the 32 acre Mumford Wildlife Forest owned by New England Forestry Foundation. The land was sold in two parts to the Dover Land Conservation Trust and The Trustees of Reservations for a total of $6.85 million.

The sales were the culmination of a multi-year effort in which LandVest provided advisory and disposition services to the owner, including land planning and valuation, project management and brokerage. LandVest marketed the property to conservation groups, developers and estate buyers and ultimately negotiated the successful sale to conservation groups. This land will be open to the public and is a central piece of a 148 acre contiguous block of permanently protected land surrounding Pegan Hill.
