Cape Ann’s Blackburn Challenge
July 25th, 2015

BCThe Blackburn Challenge is well-known to Cape Ann residents, as well as nationally in the rowing community, as a 20+ mile open water circumnavigation of Cape Ann. Participants row or paddle small boats in the open ocean waters around Cape Ann, and conditions can vary dramatically throughout the day.  The race is in honor of Howard Blackburn, a fisherman who battled the winter sea and returned home a hero after being injured.

Many come from far and wide.  The half way point of the race passes directly by the shores at 11 Gap Head Road .  Enjoy a front row seat at this amazing race!
