Vermont’s Maple Syrup Gold Rush: LandVest Key Advisor to Major New Vermont Sugaring Venture

From a bucket hooked to a tree to vacuum lines and reverse osmosis plants, Vermont maple syrup production is undergoing a sweet revolution. There is no better example of this shift than LandVest client, Sweet Tree Holdings 1, LLC in Island Pond, Vermont. Sweet Tree chose Vermont for its valuable sugar maple resource and as a symbol of quality and sustainability.

In 2015, Sweet Tree has completed an initial tap installation of 95,000 taps. However, that number will swell to over 400,000 in the next few years, making it the largest and perhaps North America’s most technologically advanced maple sugaring facility. LandVest brokered the initial 7,000-acre acquisition, coordinated the initial setup team and manage all Sweet Tree’s forests.
