Ask the Seller: 137 Smith Neck Road, South Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Part Two
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in one of LandVest’s South Coast properties? We invite our owners to tell us a bit about their experience, what they love about their homes and their history.
In part two of this blog, we learn some of the current owners’ favorite spots in the house and property, and a “secret” about Smith Neck Road.
What is your favorite room in the house and why?
My favorite room is the study with its eaves, gables, soothing colors and views of the garden. It’s a great place to think, reflect and work. My daughter’s (and her dog’s) favorite spot in the house is the window seat at the top of the stairs because of the view – in all seasons and weather.
As a family we spend most of our time in the kitchen and great room. It’s such a great place for family meals, cooking, relaxing by the fire, and watching a baseball or football game or movie.
Do you have a favorite spot on the property?
My favorite spot has to be the back porch. It is a beautiful, relaxing part of the world where we can enjoy the garden and the view of the bay especially in the summer, fall, and late spring. You will even find us out there on a warm sunny day in the winter.
Does the property have any secrets?
South Dartmouth, particularly Smith Neck Road, is unique. You can still send your child out the front door in the morning and not see them until dinner. You know they’re safe as they explore on their bicycles or hike through the woods on Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust (DNRT) trails. This created such a unique childhood for our children. It’s why our wedding photographers moved to Smith Neck Rd from Boston after shooting our daughter’s wedding.
