A South Coast Experience: The 44th Annual Buzzards Bay Regatta

From cute kids in dinghies and masters of the universe in blue water yachts, the 2016 Buzzards Bay Regatta (BBR) brought together a colorful flotilla for three days of racing in early August. We’ve loved watching the races from the tip of Butler Point in Marion, MA, where we have listed and sold many wonderful properties on the Kittansett Club, Point Road, Hammetts Cove, and Sippican Harbor.

Buzzards Bay RegattaThe Buzzards Bay Regatta (BBR) is the largest multi-class regatta in the United States with over 450 boats and 1,200 sailors competing across a wide range of classes, including one-designs like Lasers to cruising and racing yachts and multi-hulls. Alternating between the New Bedford Yacht Club (NBYC) in Padanaram and the Beverly Yacht Club (BYC) in Marion, this year’s 44th regatta was hosted by BYC and drew  sailors from all over the country.
