We Love Winter in the Adirondacks

The Adirondack Mountains aren’t just for summer fun! See where the LandVest’s Adirondack Brokers enjoy downhill skiing and LandVest properties close to the mountains.

Vincent McClelland, Managing Director of the Keene Valley office in the heart of the Adirondacks, enjoys spending free time skiing at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, NY. Many of the Keene Valley properties are just a short distance from Whiteface Mountain, also known as “Olympic Mountain” for the Olympic Facilities built when Lake Placid hosted the 1980 Olympics. Whiteface boasts the greatest vertical drop east of the Rocky Mountains with a 3,430 foot drop and has terrain for beginners to expert level skiers. Whiteface is known for more than just the skiing, many world-cup events are held in Lake Placid with plenty of winter nightlife after a hard day skiing. These great winter recreational facilities are within a short drive of the properties LandVest is marketing for sale.

LeeAnn Modestino, Associate Broker, has fond memories of learning to ski as a kid at both Gore Mountain Ski Resort in North Creek, NY and West Mountain in Queensbury, NY. Both mountains are an easy drive from the Southern Adirondacks and Lake George. With 107 trails, 4 peaks, 15 lifts and a vertical drop of 2,537 feet, Gore Mountain has trails for every level skier. At West Mountain, enjoy night skiing until 9pm. Or, if you have only a couple hours, take advantage of their 2 or 4 hour lift tickets.

Wikiosco is a short 26 miles from Gore Mountain and just 12.5 miles from West Mountain.
